Sleepless Halloween

It’s so sad that at this age I still fear ghosts.
I did not sleep all night because it was halloween and Yona and I were alone!

Closing my eyes was like suicide so I didn’t get to sleep at all.
I was afraid that I might see other beings upon waking up.
I was afraid to use the PC because I might see reflections on the monitor.
I was afraid to use earphones because I might not hear THEM coming down the stairs.
Or opening the door.
Or closing the cabinet.
Or play ball outside.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I was so afraid!!!!!

So what I did was watch TV and DVD all night long.
I drowned myself with feel good movies so I could forget the fact that it’s halloween.

Ali Bangbang: *tsit-tsit sirit-tsit* – Bonggang Bonggang News Anchor!
Ate Ging-ging: Isang dakilang doktor

Bongga talaga!Nagkatuluyan na ata si Ate Siena at Kuya Bodjie

Character Assassination

My blood pressure shoot up last night and my ears were literally red from anger. I was fuming mad!

Hubby asked me on what I think about EMMANUEL TUPAS (ET), a man who previously worked in the company he’s working with but is now linked to The Daily Manila Shimbun – a japanese language newspaper. So as a senior in that company and who also had the chance to work with ET, I told him that I find him weird matter-of-factly because he was after all, WEIRD. Sorry, but that’s how I see him. Because of the 5 or so years of working with him, we never became close – nobody was close to him. Kontrapelo siya parati.

He said “kasi he left a comment in Amie’s friendster profile…Bernie was more affected pa nga eh…” So I immediately knew that something was wrong. Hubby’s not the type of person who would tell me nonsense things like this. He showed me the saved file:

Emmanuel Posted 10/12/2008 7:00 pm
This is what you call a real achievement, working as a journalist in a respected newspaper. How can you compare this with the so called achievements of two SPI assholes, namely Bernie Pades and Marcel Pulga who maligns indexers so they could be noticed by their superiors. Two numbskulls who think they are superior human beings when in fact they are nothing more than just stupid pretenders

(Amie already deleted hers – but I was able to trace it at somebody else’s profile, damn that man, he posted it on a bunch!)

Here’s the actual pic of the FS comment that he left:

Emmanueldocument.write(fMakeDate(“10/12/2008 3:41 am”,”-7″,”%M%M/%D%D/%y%y%y%y %h:%m%m %a”)); Posted 10/12/2008 6:41 pm

I immediately PMed the guy and asked him what was wrong. That if my husband owes him something, he would really appreciate it if he’ll be told about this upfront, not bash him at somebody else’s site. That he should stop assassinating the character of my husband and Bernie’s because such action shows cowardice and can only be done by a person with mental retardation. I even asked him if he was a faggot because afterall, no guy in his right senses can do a thing like this. Dyahe. Trabahong babae to.

As I was checking his headshot I noticed that the title was “And Senado Bago Pagbotohan and JPEPA” so I again PMed him giving him a dose of his own medicine:

Title:THIS WHAT YOU CALL ACHIEVEMENT
Message:
IS THIS WHAT YOU CALL ACHIEVEMENT?
YOU CLAIM TO BE A RESPECTED JOURNALIST IN A NEWSPAPER BUT YOU CAN’T EVEN PUT PROPER TITLES ON YOUR PHOTOS.

He viewed my profile, changed the headshot title to “Ang Senado Bago Pagbotohan JPEPA” (mali pa din!) but never replied to my PM.

——————————————

My God, my husband is not like that. Ang trabaho trabaho, don’t take it to a personal level. And besides from what I have known, there was no instance na nagkabungguan sila instruction-wise, company policy-wise and even physically! So this comment has no basis – unless… he likes both hubby and Bernie but was not able to express his feelings. ewwww….

Pinaymama's Diary One Year Blogversary

One good thing about staying at home and having an internet connection is that one can join online contests 24/7. In 3 days time I already joined 4 contests, one required me to write a story of Christmas, the others are simply blogging about the contest itself.

I get thrilled especially that I new to blogger and is slowly working my way to blogsphere.

Today I visited Pinay Mama’s site and found out that her blog is turning 1! Isn’t it great? And she’s making a lot of moolah just by blogging. This is the hanapbuhay that I want. Blogging all day plus homeschooling a toddler, managing a household, running a business on the side – ahhhh life!

This way I’ll hopefully win items, get paid by blogging and be with my daughter!

Here are Pinay Mama’s Sites:

Halloween 2008

This will be a very busy weekend for Yona and Mommy as we have 3 events to attend to this weekend. I don’t understand why I let my daughter go through this Halloween thingy but for the sake of fun, heck Go na rin ang Ina.

On Saturday we will attend the Halloween Trick or Treat of SPi, my former office. Hubby’s still there as well as my friends so I am obligated to attend the event. I dreaded the moment I step on that building but that leaves me no choice.

This was her costume last year, a cute vietnamese silk cheongsam from Ninang Gertee, yeah it’s authentic from Vietnam.

Now, she’ll be a fairy. I would have wanted her to wear something extraordinary but I hate to compromise her comfort. I don’t want her to wear something that’s isn’t her. Yona spells pink and purples so a good fairy would be perfect! It should have been more halloweeny, scary but it’s soooo not Yona hahaha so slash the idea of the “bitch fairy” that came to life.

I just hope that like last year she would still enjoy the activities that the office will prepare. But I bet she’d be more thrilled since she could now comprehend the real meaning of merriment.

You see, this isn’t about tradition or being patriotic to the western culture but more of acceptance that this borrowed event brings joy to each kid that joins.

On Sunday we will be in KidsAhoy for arts and crafts. I love bringing Yona to KidsAhoy, there she enjoys just playing with blocks and goofing around. It’s like having gymboree but with a close knit relationship with the owner. I love you Joanne and CJ!

Right after that we will go to her cousin Xam’s house to celebrate Xam’s 3rd birthday.

And this very morning we received a personal invite from Zharine of Kidstime for the launching of Kidstime Magazine. The launch is scheduled on Sunday, 3PM. Heck, we can’t attend of course. That would mean killing ourselves with stress.

So that’s it for this weekend but more Halloween events before November 1!

It's over – and I'm glad :)

Jul 24, ’08 11:14 AM

So it’s finally over.

I have spent the last few months contemplating resignation but something happened this morning that forced me to pass the piece of paper that has been sitting in my outgoing tray for quite sometime now. I would not go into details because I want to leave this company happy – and my respect for them still intact. Believe me, corporate politics sucks big time.

SPi has been my home for almost 9 years, and I could say that it saw me grow, literally. I started working there as a Document Analyst when I was 19, that was in 2000. Then, I was full of hope and dreams and that dreams? – they remained as dreams and the hope I have had before already shattered into pieces.

So what will happen to me now?

I’ll be turning into a BUM.

JOKE!

I’m turning into a POSH W.A.H.M ( I need a make-over for Pete’s sake!)

Please support my stores and let me be a work-at-home mom until Yona gets married hahahaha

- www.bagoongespesyal.multiply.com – ay day, makakalimutan mo pangalan mo sa sarap ng bagoong ni Marcelle!

From a Project Specialist to a FULL TIME MOM, the best job in the world!

Everyone I know are happy that I’ll already leave this company – I don’t know if they’re happy for me or they’re just plain glad that they won’t be seeing much of me na. LOL!

But despite all this, there’s one person who’s so giddy happy – YONA. She prefers to see me home, kahit noodles lang at itlog ang kaya kong lutuin para sa kanya.

If this is selfishness then let me me be selfish just this once, because I owe myself this freedom :)

August 8, 2008 – I’M FREE! Wish me luck.

P.S. Gertz, Sally, Joie, Maui and Jem – I’m going to miss all of you, thanks for the friendship :)

My Journey to WAHMhood

Jul 26, ’08 9:52 PM

Yesterday I started my being a stay-at-home-mom slash work-at-home-mom drama and I find it ten times harder than my office work. Perhaps I’m just training myself since I’ll be staying home officially in less than two weeks.

I never thought how hard it is to plan a menu especially if your fridge is empty. An unexpected visitor arrived yesterday before lunch so I was literally in a panic mode as I have already decided to eat just the breakfast leftovers since Marcelle was asleep naman. Hay naku! Buti na lang Papa texted me that he’s going home and I was like, “hey, your visitor is here, what’s for lunch?” hehehe. He bought inihaw na bangus and sauteed veggies. Thanks God!

I never thought that it’s hard to keep a house clean and in order especially if you have a toddler who knows nothing but to make it harder for you. I’ve been training Yona to pack her toys up after playing but it seems that she still don’t get it. She plays, reads and eat at the same time and knows nothing but “Mommy, can you pick this up for me please?”, “Mommy put this in the trashcan” etc, etc, etc. What’s make this task harder is for the ones working to expect that YOU KNOW everything in the house since YOU’RE JUST THERE. Hayyyy…I hate it when I’m being asked to look for this and that. Our house is too small for them not see where they placed their things and infact it’s THEIR thing, not mine. And if it’s really, really missing, they should learn to haul Yona’s toys for that missing something! I am not Ernie Baron.

I never thought that I am a multi-tasker and if this was a subject in college, I’ll get an uno for this. I am in a stage of fixing things in my new store Posh Baby and yesterday I was finalizing the templates for the Print It! Graphics’ business cards, invitations, mommy cards, kiddie cards, stickers. You see I just learned the software and I’m still experimenting so I still don’t know the short cuts. Imagine the hardships of being a newbie? Loaded na nga ng pimples face ko sa puyat hehehe. Aside from this I was answering inquiries, getting orders (thank you so much for the support!) and packing items. While doing all these things I have a toddler who’s playing in her bathtub shouting “Mommy, look at this! Dora knows how to swim!” Splash. Splash. Splash. Rice boiling, boil. boil.boil. Ding-dong, ding-dong Benedick from OCS courier “Ma’am, yung bill niyo po amounting to blah-blah-blah is due today”. Another Ding-dong, ding-dong. The homeowner’s treasurer, “Iris, monthly dues niyo for June and July”

“Mommy, I have no more dede!” Oh my God! I forgot to clean Yona’s milk bottles! Wash. wash. wash. Boil.boil….wala ng gas! Another my God!

The hardest part is I have to budget the family income. I hate doing this eversince since I am the type of person who spends too much. Asking for money from my mother or my husband is such a big no no for me BEFORE. I don’t know what will really happen now that I am no longer a worker and won’t be bringing home moolah every payday. I want to change, I need to change. Change my priorities, understand cash flow, be a saver. hard.

You see I am not complaining, it’s far from it. I am just saying that at Day One I am already this exhausted and is already asking myself kung kaya ko ba to. “Kaya ko nga ba to?” Itaas ang bandera ng mga WAHM, kaya natin to!

It would be hell hard but it’s very rewarding. And I’m looking forward to the time that I’ll be reaping the fruits of this decision.

WAHM, be proud!

On Regular Days

As a SAHM, I don’t go through the hassle of waking up early for work, thinking a gazillion times on what to wear for work, stressing myself to death on how to commute back and forth. Being at home saves me a lot of untimely wrinkles!

But don’t get me wrong, I do work – but at home! I am so blessed to have a husband who supports my decision to quit my job and be with our daughter. I know he’s not earning that much but he just loves me to bits to embrace this obligation hehe

Our week starts on a Tuesday. Mondays are considered Sundays to us – family day or should I say Mom and Dad’s Off Days. Daddy from work while Mommy from taking good care of Yona. I go to suppliers on this day.

Here’s what we do during regular weekdays – Tuesdays to Saturdays:

0730 – 0800: Wake up time

0800 – 0830: I prepare 8oz milk for Yona and coffee and bread for me at the same time, I turn the PC on

0830 – 0900: Yona drinks milk while watching Nick Jr. on TV5 or Miya on QTv, I work on my PC

0900 – 1000: I prepare brunch for Yona, oatmeal and bread and another 8oz of milk

1000 – 1200: Toddler activities with Yona, taking a bath – the works, mom faces the PC

1200 – 1230: Lunch Time

1230 – 1300: Mommy works while Yona watches TV

1300 – 1500: Nap time for Yona, mommy works again

1500 – 1630: Snack time, toddler activities, milk time for Yona

1630 – 1800: Yona plays with friends while waiting for Dada

1800 – 1900: We watch TV together while Dada prepares dinner

1900 – 1930: Dinner time

1930 – 2030: Downtime

2030 – 2100: Yona takes a shower

2100 onwards: Lights off for Mommy and Yona, Dada uses PC

So that’s it! Though there are days when we do errands but typically this is how we schedule our days.

Practical Tips and More

I came across this site when I was browsing Smart Parenting Forum this morning and I find it very helpful to mommies out there especially to SAHMs and WAHMs who are sacrificing so much just to make both ends meet.

You see the site will give you tips in giving gifts on a scrimp budget, have a birthday bash on a budget , and not just that! It also contains entries on Insurance, Parking, Vacation, and even Pimples! It’s like having a one-stop shop of “How To and What If’s” on the net!

You see, these tips are essential to us SAHMs and WAHMs who rely mainly on fellow moms on what to do if such and such situation are encountered. Most SAHMs today have micro businesses on the sides too so we really, really have to multiask and cut short processes just to fit with the alloted time given. Aside from this, we also have a household to run, kids to think of, others do homeschooling also which is why time management, discipline and practical tips are really necessary to us.

So I would like to thank you for making this site for us mommies :)

We need more sites like Practical Tips and More!
