Technology

Eons ago creating relationships can be as hard as physics and trigonometry. You have to go through a lot of hassles like posting mails on the postal office, wait for it to reach the recipient for 3 – 4 weeks especially if it’s overseas and wait for another round of weeks until the reply reaches you. It’s slow hence it’s called Snail Mail. I vaguely remember living in that era and it find it so hard and expensive.

Then came technology. I’ve had my first taste of surfing back in 1995 – and the feeling was oohhh! I love how I dealt with other people beyond my reach! It was so fun talking with friends from gazillion miles away and I realized that dating can be done online, how cool is that? Instead of the usual painful letter writing, e-mail or electronic mail has helped me convey what I was feeling in minutes, that instead of the expensive overseas calls I was able to talk to them in real time using IM messengers, damn thanks for technology!

Social networking sites and dating service sites have grown like mushrooms making a smaller world for mankind. It was no longer hard to communicate with people of all races and long lost friends who were now leaving overseas.

I should say that technology has helped improved the communication of man, bringing them closer to each other.

Things I Learned after Joining my First Bazaar

Joining bazaars is one of the goals I wanted to accomplish last year but because of unavoidable circumstances I was not able to so when Kidsahoy offered a chance this year, I gladly accepted it. There was nothing to loose – me and Kidsahoy will benefit from it especially my daughter who will have all day to play in that wonderful place.

Here are some things I learned from my first bazaar:

  1. Be there early so you can choose a good place. This is very important especially if it’s a FREE bazaar. Good place, good sales :)
  2. Bring lots of change. Buyers pay in bills most of the time :)
  3. Wear a belt bag so your important things like cellphone especially your cash won’t get lost.
  4. Bring water or else you’ll end up consuming all your money in buying beverages.
  5. Bring the right stuff. Organizers will only provide you the generic table and chair. You don’t want to end up looking like the rest of the bazaaristas, right? Be creative! Grab the attention of your buyers by having the coolest trade show booths in the whole venue! Amaze your costumers with your table skirts to glamourize your tables! Also, invest in a durable banner stands – it really helps boost your sales and etch your brand in the minds of the buyers! Lastly, if your organizer allows it, bring pipe and drape so your booth will totally stand out from the rest.

my plan, my dream and what ifs…

Planning and dreaming are my favorite “me” moments. I love it better than shopping and eating because I don’t have to spend a single cent doing it. It brings me to places and situations that answer my never ending “what if’s” in life and today during my “me” time and while Yona was taking her 3-hour afternoon nap, I thought of the following:

My plan to finish my second course, Psychology
I took this course because I really wanted to. I love every moment I spent studying lessons on Psychology – passing each subject with flying colors notwithstanding the fact that I was working 2-10PM and has to be in school 7AM-1PM :) For 3 years I was full time in school and in SPi and I was really driven to graduate until I was made to choose between school and work. I chose work. Because with my work I could feed my family – my grades couldn’t.

Now my plan is to finish this course little by little but then again this has to take a backseat because little Yona’s going to start school soon! I even tried getting my records in AdU and planned to enroll in UPOU but they’re just too difficult to understand – demanding me of this and that, eh I don’t have the time, money and patience so I stopped.

What if I spent my college days in UP?
Receiving that congratulatory notice saying that I got accepted in UP Manila on February 1997 was probably one of the best things that ever happened in my HS life. Just imagine BS Biology in UP Manila? Yooohooo! I was the most not-prepared, ever-late, quiz-flunker, I-want-to-be-in-the-backseat-forever, do-you-have-a-1/4-sheet-of-paper, pakopya type of student in the Research and Development section so being accepted in UP was really good news :) Even my teachers raised their eyebrows bwahahaha

But did I enroll? NO. Probably one of the decisions that I’ll regret forever.

Dreaming to create my own brand, my own thing :)
I don’t want to be in the reselling business forever. I want to create my own thing, create my own brand. I want to be seen on the television promoting something that I really created. The original plan behind PoshBaby was to sell handmade clothing for babies and kids but while I was brewing it I decided to quit work so I wasn’t able to gather the resources needed to actually start the production of the items I have on mind. Ang ganda sana ng idea. In time I would be able to live this dream – it might take years, lots of courage, inspiration and perspiration but I will not stop here. I dream so I can.

Wala lang…wala kasing meryenda eh, gutom lang siguro to..hahaha

And so the -ING Phase starts…

Yona: Can I use my purple scissors Mommy?

Yona: Mommy…
Me: Hmmmm
Marcelle: Be careful ha?
Yona: Yes Daddy, I’ll BECAREFULING…

—————————

CRASH!
Yona: What’s that? Don’t drop things mommy…
Me: I did not drop it!
Yona: You throw it?
Me: No, it was an accident
Yona: Haya ka…Daddy said no throwing and BROKENING of things!

:)

Tomorrow Marcelle will turn 35 :)
