Things are not well in my hubby’s office. My husband works at least one week in a month, the rest of the weeks he’s on Force Leave – just waiting for that darn SMS telling him to report for work (Hallelujah!).

The management already sacked the project-based employees leaving them the regular ones who have worked for them for the past 10 years or so. These people are all waiting for the management to say “the company’s dying, we can no longer sustain all your salaries therefore go and accept this check as a token of our appreciation” but they have been given a rocky schedule instead! How can a P100 Force Leave Pay feed a family? The company is NOT dying. It has enough work to sustain sub-contractors at the expense of their employees. I can thoroughly explain that damn subcontractor situation but I’d rather keep my mouth shut. I don’t want the management to use my words against my husband. They’re capable of doing that – that’s how shallow they are. They even sacked an employee 5 years ago just because of “hearsays”. Such pathetic people. Enough said.

Now another employee left for a good start: Joie, a mentor turned friend turned Yona’s godmother.

Roselyn aka Joie was the first Team Lead who handled me when I first started in that office. We’ve been through a lot, as in a lot. A good person inside and out, people just can’t resist her charisma – her smiles will melt you.

After 13 long years she finally said goodbye to this office – a goodbye with a heavy heart because she never really want to leave but as I have said, “P100 can’t feed a family” so she opted to go.

Career-wise, she’s driven, an A-class employee who’s loyal to this company, umulan bumagyo pumapasok yan but while most people saw that, the management didn’t.

So goodbye…it’s the company’s loss Joie, not yours.

Now she’s off to a good start with a rocket high salary that no one can resist. As I have said over and over again, there’s life after ____________ and lahat ng umaalis dito, gumaganda!
