…and then there was White!

Introducing the New Red Ribbon White Foresta counterpart of the all-time favorite cake that captured the hearts of many for so many years, the Black Forest.
Red Ribbon officially launched their new product yesterday, September 17, 2009 in Libis. Product is officially out in all Red Ribbon outlets today, September 18, 2009.
A whole new dessert experience awaits food enthusiasts as you try this new product that’s made with light and moist chiffon cake with creamy white chocolate and real cherry bits filling in between, topped with long stemmed maraschino cherries and covered with melt-in-your-mouth white chocolate shavings.
As expected, the little girl tagged along with me and based on her own words, the cake was “ohhhhh, this is the yummiest! and it tastes like bubblegum, mom!” referring to the cherry filling ;-)
Trust me, the commute from Cavite to Libis was totally worth it. The new White Forest is a must buy for the whole family, its unique new taste and heavenly taste of combination of flavors will surely delight everyone.
The new Red Ribbon White Forest is available in two sizes, Regular (P560) and Junior (P335).
Visit your nearest Red Ribbon outlet or call 8-77-77 to get your White Forest today!
Apart from the dessert, we were also given the chance to taste the new Red Ribbon Spaghetti with Meatballs (P88). I noticed that it no longer has the usual Filipino taste that we enjoyed for the past years – it tasted more Italian. But nevertheless, you’d be getting awesome value for your P88!
Other mommy bloggers also got the chance to try their new products:
Grilled Ensaymada with Farmer’s Ham (P75) – A set which includes a grilled ensaymada topped with butter, paired with glazed ham and scrambled eggs.
Garlic Chicken with Mushroom (not yet available in stores) – think cordon bleu stuffed with garlic and mushrooms paired with corn and carrots.
Note to self: Next time, bring a camera ;-)

When the door of life closes to a person, those she left behind will surely suffer the loss. It will take a lifetime for the ones left to forget. Oh, I am sure they will not forget, especially if the reason of the death is much more painful than death itself.

Last Sunday, I lost a very special person. She was closest to my mom so I can feel the pain my mom was feeling.
She was the kind of person you would see in the streets of our hometown. She was a businesswoman and a politician’s wife so you would see her driving around town every single day. I could still remember the last time I went out with her last June. She dropped by my grandfather’s old house asking me to go with her. I’ll forever treasure it. I am still in denial that she’s now gone…never to be seen again.
Mom would always hear her super ‘matutina’ voice, her ‘matutina’ laughter and her ‘dely atay-atayan’s’ way of talking. She was such a talker, like a ‘machine gun’ when she talks. She was mom’s only best friend, her ally, her partner-in-crime. She’ll surely be missed. But sad to say, she’s now gone…never to be heard again.
In this life we will only realize the importance of a person when they’re already gone…
…when it’s already late to say hi
…when it’s already late to say thank you
…when it’s already late to say I love you
and
…when it’s already late to say I’m sorry
I didn’t even got the chance to say ‘Thank You, Ninang Grace’.

‘Hi’ for the moments I failed to say hi to you
‘Thank you’ for the help you’ve given all these years
‘I love you’ because you are my Ninang, my mom’s best friend and you’ve been part of our lives
and
‘I’m sorry’ for the times I ignored your presence.
Thank you again, Ninang. May you now rest in peace…

I am so tired pero masaya.
Friday September 11, 2009.
It was dear daughter’s birthday so the day started with opening of some gifts, some because her other gifts will be given to her on Sunday.
She got a Play Doh Ice Cream Maker. She’s been eyeing this for so many months but I always tell her that it’s for her birthday and she never insisted on buying it ;-)

We then went to the mall to have lunch. It was raining so hard but we’ve got to do it otherwise we’ll end up hungry. Walang makain sa house hahaha. It was a crazy little lunch, we ate in her favorite fast food but she used her own Barbie plates and utensils!

We wrapped up the day by doing Goldilocks DYC cakes. She had a blast! It is a highly recommended bonding activity for the whole family.

I was so busy working the whole day since I did not work on Friday. Went to my folks place around 6:30PM. Dad fetched us up because I brought Kelly, an SLR and our things plus the fact that it was freakin’ raining. Around 7:15 I went to SM to get some groceries for the following day’s event. I was supposed to buy a cake but holy Lord, as early as 7:30 cakes were no longer available in that place. Akala ko nasa outerspace ako. Was able to get a not-so-good one in
their other branch. It was better than nothing.
Sunday September 13, 2009
It was still raining and we were thinking of spending the lunch in our folks house instead of going to Tagaytay but around 10am, the sun was already shining bright. Thank you Lord for giving us a very fair weather :) And since it just rained, there were few people in Tagaytay!

It was a fun-filled event, dear daughter went kite flying with her aunts and uncles.
It rained around 5pm which forced us to go home.
This is just the second leg of my daughter’s 4th birthday celebration. She’ll have another one this Saturday with her Kidsahoy friends.

Exactly 4 years ago I gave birth to a tiny little pea I named Kristiona Ma. Ysabel. Little did I know that tiny little pea will blossom into a talkative pea-nut. JOKE!

She has turned 4 today and to her, being 4 matters…a huge lot.
She’s been 4 for like 6 months already? She would never say she’s 3. I don’t know why she dislikes being 3.
Because when she turned 3 until about 3 and a half, she would always say she’s 2. Crazy kid.

Have a good laugh with some Yonaisms:
Yona: Mom, can I go to Tennessee and live there?
Mom: Huh? Tenne..oh, Tennesse sweetie! Duh.
Mom to self: where did she get that word? That’s where Hannah Montana lives! Crowley Meadows, Tennessee, remember? Another Duh.
It’s been raining for several days…
Mom: Let’s set things straight, you can only use Kelly during Saturdays and Sundays.
Yona: Why?
Mom: Because during those days, mom has no work.
Yona: Okay
when she saw that the sun was already shining…
Yona: Mom, can I use Kelly now? It’s already SUNNY DAY, see? Mr. Sun is already there!
I told Yona that I am so excited because she’s turning 4 on Friday but she said “Why? I don’t want to be just 4. I want to turn 9!” She’s really in a hurry to grow up and do things that grown ups do.
Yona challenged me to beat her in puzzle-solving. She said “C’mon you can do it, mom! Don’t give up, okay?” bwahahaha and after solving her mind-boggling Princess Ariel puzzle she said “See? You did it! I’m so proud of you, Mommy!” :D
…and a lot, lot, lot more! She’s really a talker ;-)
Happy 4th Birthday Sweetie. Mom and Dad loves you dearly!
A month ago I blogged about Entrepremom attending the Nuffnang / Goldilock’s Bloggers event in Boni High. It was the first bloggers event that I attended so I made sure that I enjoyed the night.
And I did. Not mentioning that I went home with two cakes, lots of mamon and magazines to boot.
Today as I browsed Nuffnang’s site, I noticed that they included my daughter’s photo (while she was busy decorating her Goldilock’s cake) on their official photos - siyempre masaya ako :D

photo grabbed from Nuffnang

Thanks Nuffnang, you’re simply one of the best!

Everyone, meet Kelly – my new baby :D

I could not help but be happy today. We finally bought a laptop for myself – yes…for me!
Just like any other girl, I love new things but oftentimes I would set aside my wants for more important things like grocery, bills, tuition fees, etc.
I have not bought a phone for myself. All my phones are hand-me-downs from my Bosch down to my latest Nokia N70. Yes, my phones are jurassic, but hell I only use it to call and text so why need a new one?
Just this once I asked hubby for a laptop, because we really need it so we can work simultaneously if I am loaded with tasks. Hubs is too sweet to grant my request :D
It is not the one I want I must say. I would have opted for a hmmm…yes…PINK. But what can I say but thank you hubby for this wonderful gift :D
Now our house has joined the WiFi bandwagon and I love it :D
