After being angels in Angel Brigade we were so starved that we wanted to pig out. We planned to have dinner at Friday’s but changed our plans and settled with Texas Roadhouse Grill instead. Para maiba naman.
The place was full when we got there so we waited for at least 10 minutes before we got seats. The ambiance was okay, it made me think of Hannah Montana’s Hoedown Throwdown scene. The difference? The place was too cramped.
Dennis and I each ordered Crispy Chicken Tenders (P265), Annabelle, Annie and Jade each ordered Surf and Turf (P650) and Grace ordered Wyatt Earp’s shrimp Crispers (P325). Annie ordered an additional Roadshow Salad (P195).
The verdict? 6/10.
To be fair they have big servings like how American restos normally serve. Each meal is good enough for two I may say and they they were very generous on the side dishes.
Crispy Chicken Tenders (P265) served with fries, rice or corn.
I must admit the chicken was really tender BUT the happiness ended there. The fries tasted so plain and so does the batter of the chicken. They served mine with corn but the cheap corn in a cob from the sidewalk tasted even better. It was too expensive for a meal that I didn’t even enjoy. Alam mo yung feeling na parang wala lang?
Surf and Turf (P650) Served with vegetables and onion rings.
This one was the worst. My friends ordered steaks in medium rare but they got bloody steaks instead. Ewwww but the gravy was great in fairness to Texas Roadshow. Too bad my friends were not able to complain because they were too hungry to notice that they were eating bloody steaks. They said that the steaks were hard yet bloody.
Grace got herself Wyatt Earp’s shrimp Crispers (P325). It was served with rice and 4 huge shrimps. Grace described the shrimps as ‘frozen’. It wasn’t fresh. She’s giving it 5/10. Five for the huge serving and tasty rice and side dish.
Overall, it was a very pricey dinner for the 6 of us, we paid P3,500 (service charge was P500++!).
We were full yes, but not happy full. You know the difference, right?
