Archive for December, 2009
This afternoon Red Ribbon launched their limited edition cakes for Christmas 2009. I, together with some selected bloggers and a few people from the media got to taste their new cakes. Before that we were ushered to a buffet of Red Ribbon’s popular dishes.
I got myself a serving of their Creamy Carbonara and stuffed chicken with garlic and mushroom (I’m not sure if this is already available in their branches but I swear, it’s worth trying!). I asked for brewed coffee because it was really, really cold and I noticed how festive their new paper cups were. Love it!
Here comes the cakes!
Santa’s Wish Cake
Red ribbon is proud to introduce a unique cake especially for the festivities of the Christmas season. The cake is inspired by the icons of Christmas, such as St. Nick himself, with his cherry red hat, twinkling eyes and his fluffy white beard. Santa’s Wish Cake is made with moist and dense rhumbutter cake with a layer of creamy caramel filling and covered in smooth icing.
It tastes just right! The creamy caramel filling compliments the not too sweet icing. With its festive flavors and design, this cake is perfect for the season!
Cake price: P550
Availability:
Available on a pre-order basis at any Red Ribbon store from November 27 – December 15, 2009.
Available off-the-shelf on December 22 – 24, 2009.
Chocolate Walnut Fudge
For those who can’t get enough of chocolates!
Red Ribbon’s Chocolate Walnut Fudge with Hershey’s Dark Chocolate is the latest addition to Red Ribbon’s Premium Selection cakes.
It’s made up of…hold your breath…a layer of creamy chocolate mousse on a bed of moist fudgy brownie, generously loaded with chopped walnuts and finished with Hershey’s Dark Chocolate ganache, sprinkles and long chocolate rolls. Sounds heaven? It really is! I couldn’t count the times I said “oh…yummy!” because it is really, really delicious.
Yes, Chocolate Walnut Fudge is ‘sinfully’ delicious

Thanks Red Ribbon, Hershey’s Chocolates and Let’s Go Sago
I got so tired from today’s event so cooking dinner was the last thing on my mind. I decided to drop by KFC and grab this yummy treat:

I can’t help it! I am so addicted to the new KFC Twister. Its like eating KFC fried chicken and pizza in one. For only P89 you will be getting 1 KFC Twister and 12oz. drink. It’s unhealthy, I know, but who cares? I deserve a treat , right?
The Hot Shots is for hubby actually – it’s too hot so I’ll just get a piece of two. And that Hershey’s Dark Chocolate? Its a complimentary treat from Hershey’s when I attended the Red Ribbon Chocolate Walnut Fudge cake launch this afternoon.
I love eating chocolate when Yona’s not around. Chocolates trigger migraine and tonsillitis so it’s a no-no at home.
Sometimes, fast food can really be tempting. How about you? What are your favorite unhealthy food treats?

I have several questions to ask my chosen presidential candidate but I decided to ask this first: If you’re the president right now, what specific things / order will you do about the Maguindanao Massacre? This is the hottest issue in the country today so I need to know their position on this sensitive issue.
Questions are posted within 24 hours upon submission though. I just hope that the candidates will ponder on each question, not just answer it for the sake of ‘answering’. The posted questions are valid ones that should be addressed immediately.

When you have a kid at home who loves cheese, there is a need for you to be creative in making dishes with cheese.
One of dear daughter’s favorite cheese dishes is good old mac and cheese. She would always request for this whenever we dine out. I love it, too! So when Lucky Me! introduced their version of mac and cheese, I promised Yona that we will try it.

I must say, I was impressed! It’s so cheesy yet it does not taste ‘instant’. You know what I mean, the usual tastes-like-MSG kind of food. It is far from that
For every pack you will get 1 pouch of noodles and 1 pouch of cheese. Just cook the noodles for 4 minutes, drain it and mix with the cheese! Enjoy!
Lucky Me! Mac and Cheez gets 5-stars from dear daughter and me
