There are so many reasons why I love being a mom. But if I could cite one cool thing that I like now, it’s losing my menstrual cramps during ‘that time’ of the month!
I used to skip school before so I could rest and there was even one time in college when I really passed out because I could no longer bear the pain. Aside from the pain, I also hate the icky feeling of wearing pads. I simply hate it especially if the regular ones are used.
Good thing there are thin pads nowadays which are indeed heaven sent.

My little girl and I were given the chance to watch the premiere night of “The Spy Next Door” last night and we had fun. So much fun that she now wants to be a cyborg!
A movie meant for the entire family, The Spy Next Door is a comedy/action movie but it was more on the comedy side. It never failed to create giggles and shrieks from parents and kids alike!
a
Synopsis: Lionsgate’s family action comedy THE SPY NEXT DOOR stars Jackie Chan as Bob Ho, an undercover CIA superspy who decides to give up his career in espionage to settle down with his next-door neighbor and girlfriend, Gillian (Amber Valletta). But Bob has one more mission to complete before Gillian agrees to marry him: winning over her three opinionated kids. When Gillian suddenly has to leave town, Bob volunteers to babysit the children so he can earn their approval. But when one of the kids mistakenly downloads a top-secret formula from his computer, Bob’s archenemy, a Russian terrorist, moves in for the attack, forcing Bob to juggle the roles of spy and prospective stepfather in the most challenging mission of his career!
If there was one line my daughter and I will not ever forget from that movie it was Nora’s, the youngest girl’s “I don’t wanna be a princess anymore, I want to be a CYBORG!”
The movie was indeed very entertaining albeit there were lines thrown and values that I didn’t want my daughter to grasp. I kept on reminding her that it’s not okay to say “I hate this family!” and “I hate this house!” but she just shrugged and whispered “It’s just a movie mom!” heehee
And did I just see celebrity dad Billy Cyrus there? Oh yes! And Lucas Till as well. I was even thinking if Miley Cyrus will appear in some scenes
The entire movie has the Jackie Chan touch so expect to laugh and be awed at his moves once again.

Thank you Pampers and Gymboree Play & Music.
Hey mommies, if you are looking for a great bonding time with your little ones, try the Pampers Yoga Stretchycise.
Pampers together with Mother and Child Nurses Association of the Philippines (MCNAP) and Gymboree Play and Music came up with a program that combines playtime routine and yoga moves with stretching, and that is the new Pampers Yoga Stretchycise. This routine will help encourage the development of baby’s mind and body.
During the launch, we were treated to a first-hand demonstration of the simple exercises by Maritoni Tordesillas, the baby yoga instructor. These exercises encourage baby movement and active play, both essentials for babies at this age of development.
It is true that physical activity of infants and young children is an essential factor in their early brain development and learning and one way to encourage them to move is through the Pampers Yoga Stretchycise.
Gymboree Play & Music offers age-appropriate classes to encourage active play for parents and their kids. This establishment, as we all know, is fully equipped with especially designed equipments, bright foam and air pieces, a variety of props and trained teachers to create an environment that will surely stimulate a child’s physical cognitive and social development. Learn more about this by visiting www.gymboree-ph.com.
Make this activity even more exciting and mess-free by putting Pampers’ newest product – Pampers Active Baby on your baby! This encourages movement with its unique stretchy side tapes that certainly follows a baby’s body shape, therefore allowing for a more comfortable fit so your little ones can play all day.

I just learned today that a daughter of a distant relative is into drugs. I’ve always heard stories like this from the media and from friends, and I am guilty of saying things like blame it to the parents, good thing it never happened to me, that’s what they get for giving their kids more than they need, etcetera. But I was left speechless when it happened to someone close to me. The feeling was so different, it felt surreal. The little girl that I used to know is now confined in a drug rehab center somewhere in the South.

According to the drug authorities, illegal drugs remain to be a significant problem in our society. There are no hard fast statistics but there is an estimation saying that more than 100,000 young people in the Philippines are dealing with drug addiction. It is so sad but this 100K mark is just a rough estimation, meaning it could be less or worse, more.
My question this morning “Why? How did it happened?”
Their story was the common “busy-working-parents-while-kids-are-left-home-alone” drama. The teener was always left alone with no one to talk to so she relied on friends for comfort, advice, and yes, love. The parents on the other hand gave her more than enough to make up for their short comings. They thought that the set-up was perfect until it was too late.
Their daughter was already spending too much time online, they already lost some things, they noticed that they were already losing bundles of cash in their cash box, and the last one was they found withdrawal sheets with forged signatures on her room! Nobody confronted her because the parents thought that she was just going through a phase. Until she left their home earlier this month and eloped with a guy. She came home a few days late to the delight of her parents but they we’re shocked to know that she just went home to get more CASH.
This led the parents to call the help of the police because they can no longer control the girl. She was already uncontrollable and was shivering from anger and her need for MORE drugs.
I am affected because, first and foremost, I am close to the parents. I understand that they are working so hard to give their kids the best. That they can not give up their work because they want their kids to have the best life. They never thought that this would happen and all they did was work their *sses off morning and night for their kids.
I asked hubby “Ba’t naman ako?”
My husband reminded me that people are different from each other, so they react to issues differently as well. I was a neglected teener too, but I never thought of drugs as a solution to my problems. But then again, it was just me. The situation could be worse to this little girl. Maybe it was already too much for her to take.
This left me thinking that I should change my priorities, that I should put my family first. Of course it is easier said than done. but all I can promise my husband and daughter is the time I can spend with them. That I will always be there whether they need me or not.
Let’s show our kids that they are important to us, that whatever they say matter. Let us be sensitive to their needs and take some time to listen and chat with them each day. Eating together is also essential and grab that chance to update them (and vice versa) on what happened to you that day. I personally believe that it is important that we spend moments with our kids EACH DAY, not just every weekend.
You see, Communication is the key. Top that with Love and you’ll get Harmony.

I promised my daughter that she can join me in the kitchen every Friday so this morning we made HOMEMADE PIZZA.
All ingredients we used in making this are all store-bought (to make my life easier and kitchen cleaner!). I promise you, this one is an inexpensive way to bond with your child
Ingredients you can get from your nearest supermarket:
Party pizza crust (you can substitute this with sliced bread)
Pizza sauce
Pepperoni (substitute this with ham if you like)
Meat (i think ground meat will do, but if you can find the meat they use for meat lover’s, then that’s better)
Quick Melt Cheese (mozzarella is a better choice)
Process
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees celcius
1. Spread the pizza sauce on the crust.
2. Put pepperoni on the center.
3. Put meat.
4. Garnish with cheese.
Bake for about 20 minutes or until it is cooked.

Enjoy!
Note: Mommies, you can replace the pepperoni and meat with tuna, vegetables, etcetera. Just let your creative juices flow and have fun!

I couldn’t think of anything to write today because I am so busy writing articles when I saw Niko’s post on my inbox. So I decided to join this meme.
This week’s topic is FIRST CRUSH.
Hubby is not the jealous type and I know he wouldn’t mind, right honey?
I’ve had my first crush when I was in 3rd grade, I think. There was this boy in 4th grade who never ceased to pester me each day so I don’t really know what pushed me to like him.
And to think that he wasn’t good looking at all!
I can’t mention his name because until now I am still in denial LOL!
Note: McDonald’s Tween commercial reminds me of this ‘first crush’ feeling but I still don’t like the ad. I am one of the many parents who are against this commercial because we believe that it promotes early dating.
