Hubby and I have always spent every Valentine’s Day with family and not as a couple. I don’t know, we just think Valentine’s Day is so overrated and far over-hyped. We think that Valentine’s Day should be celebrated simply and with the whole family.
There’s so much to do during this day, and yes this does not include dining out because for sure, all restaurants and malls are jam packed with people and the food are outrageously priced as well. Here are some of the activities that we do that you can try, too!
1.) Potluck lunch and dinners. It has always been a family tradition to cook food and bring it to my folks’ house. This is inexpensive yet enjoyable. Karaoke and drinking follows
2.) Park Visits. This year we are planning to spend Valentine’s Day in the park to relax and have fun. The boys can go fishing, wall climbing, try the zip line, try the paint ball, swim and run around as the girls relax. This is one way to bond with each member of the family without spending too much.
3.) Art Attack. Let your creativity juices flow by making cards, book marks, and photo frames. Your kid will surely love this! There are more activities online, find the one that suits you in a free web directory that you feel comfortable in using.
4.) Bake and bake and bake. Drop the idea of buying overly expensive cakes and bake one for your loved ones. Nothing beats home made cakes!
Got some family activities to share? Add them up on the comments section and I’d be willing to include them on my list.
Much love,
