I first heard of Island Rose in 2005 when the boyfriend of my best friend sent her a box of roses on their anniversary. Her boyfriend was abroad by the way so it puzzled me as the roses came in fresh with morning dew to boot. I thought it was sweet that I really planned to send one for myself! I initially thought it was hard to send flowers to the Philippines, but the website has proven me wrong. In fact, sending flowers and gifts via Island Rose can be achieved in 4 easy steps.
Here are the steps on how you can send the freshest Philippine flowers or the most romantic gift to your loved ones this Valentine’s day:
Visit the website of Island Rose and choose from their wide array of flowers and gifts.
Then follow the steps below to an easy and successful flower delivery to the Philippines:
Have a Happy Valentine’s Day!
I just recently weaned Yona from her bottle so she’ll improve her eating habits. It was okay then, but when she turned four she was still drinking 5-8 bottles of milk everyday instead of eating 3 full meals, which isn’t good.
Now my problem is how to put more calcium on her diet when she doesn’t like to drink milk on a glass. Her pedia insisted that she still needs to drink milk at night. But how? She wouldn’t even try to sip!
According to Vincent Iannelli, M.D., contributor to About.com Pediatrics, a child’s Calcium needs are dictated by their age (See Resource Section for a link to this article). Kids aged 1 – 3 years require 500 mg of Calcium daily. Children 4 – 8 years need 800 mg of Calcium daily. Ages 9 – 18 require 1300 mg of Calcium daily.
My solution for the mean time is provide her high in calcium foods such as cheese, yogurt, graham crackers and orange juice fortified with calcium just so she gets the required calcium intake every day.
February is a special month for the Lopez Museum and this month is even better because the Lopez Museum celebrates 50th anniversary on February 18.
The Lopez Memorial Museum and Library was founded in 1960 with an initial collection of 19th century masterpieces including 36 Juan Lunas and 182 Felix Resurreccion Hidalgos. Now, the library currently holds over 19,000 Filipiana titles with 12,000 authors, rare books, manuscripts, maps, literary works. The institution has came up with a digitization project and conservation laboratory to provide quick and convenient access to materials but it ensures that the works are preserved for future use. The Lopez Museum committed itself to move their instituion forward by widening its engagements outside its physical structure, as well as pursuing an interdisciplinary approach to its exhibitions and programs.

I am a pork lover. My week is not complete without a viand with pork as its main ingredient. Blame it to my grand mother who never fails to put pork in every single food that she cooks. If there’s one thing that she passed unto me, it is the love for pork. But I have to stop now. I need to.

Pork isn’t bad because in fact, pork is naturally low in salt and a rich source of good quality protein. It is also a good source of several vitamins and minerals needed for good health including iron, zinc, some of the B group vitamins, selenium and phosphorus. But if you eat pork every day (like me!) then you might as well consider introducing yourself to other viands. Why? because as they say, too much of a good thing kills.
I am now slowly removing pork from our daily meals and I want to reach the point of really hating even the just the smell of pork. I want to dislike pork, the way I dislike crustaceans. After reading several colon cleansing reviews, I am considering detoxification to remove all the fats that I accumulated all these years.
Good luck to me!
I am blaming every single reason that I can think of for these pimples which keeps on coming back. Somebody told me one time when I was getting hysterical over my pimples that “Don’t worry, it’s not acne but just…pimples” Darn. Its still Pimples with a capital P and I hate it.

I am blaming stress, hormonal imbalance, the food I love to eat (eating makes me happy so I don’t care!), the facial wash I use, my face powder, etcetera. I stopped using them all together and the freaking pimples are still there! I have tried almost all of the acne home remedies online and mind you, they are even better than the expensive creams I’ve tried.
Jen, a good friend of mine introduced me to Thanakha. So far I am loving the results and I’ll post a separate review about it before the month ends. Watch out for it.
A year ago, L’oreal Paris Cosmetics launched their new line of whitening foundation especially created for Asian skin – the White Perfect Pearl Duo Powder Foundation and White Perfect Pearl Liquid Foundation. And since I am not so comfortable with any liquid foundation on my face, I tried the duo powder instead.

The powder foundation has 2 different tones, the top one which is distinctly lighter can be used to highlight features or as a concealer. This duo powder foundation is available in four shades, namely, Apricot Ivory (R2), Nude Vanilla (N2), Vanilla Ivory (G1) and Golden Caramel (G7). Both the liquid and powder foundation are available in Rustan’s for P995.
L’oreal’s White Perfect Pearl Foundation is packed with pearl complex that consists of Vitamin C, melanin-block, and SPF18, all helpful in preventing skin darkening, brown spots and ageing.
What I love about the duo powder is that it leaves my face so smooth and conceals the fine lines of ageing that most wrinkle serums fail to cover and it does not make my face flaky.
As much as possible I veer away from medicines and all synthetic stuff. In fact, I started this kind of lifestyle early with Yona. I noticed that even as a baby, Yona is the type who would never take medicines. She hates all the gooey, cherry flavored meds I give her when she’s sick. In fact her vitamins now are Cecon chewables and the gummy bears multivitamins.

During her ‘sick’ days, which by the way happens VERY rarely, I try other natural options so her fever will go down. The ‘steam bath’ would always do the trick and its very helpful especially if she has fever, cough or colds. IF she still has fever on the second day, then that’s the time I would bring her to her pedia to check for other possible reasons.
I am very thankful that Yona is not the sickly type. She’s very healthy although she’s on the skinny side. Is this because I was eating healthy fruits and religiously drinking milk when I was pregnant? My OB also gave me a good prenatal multivitamin that made me crave for more good food.
I do not recommend this to everyone as I know that there are more people who are more comfortable in taking conventional drugs. But it’s still best to avoid these drugs if its not really needed.
I am not a firm believer of psychic reading because I am afraid of the future but last night was different. I don’t know what pushed me to try it when, ever since, even the simplest psychic game would scare me.

That’s me with Madame Lorna
Thanks PinayAds for the pic!
Ever since I discovered the secret to life, I noticed that positive things happen around me and the talks I’ve had with the Psychics last night reaffirmed it. The way I look at things radiated in the cards I’ve randomly chose. The other Psychic Madame Purita even reminded me to “go on with your plans on having a second baby this year” How on earth did she know our plan? Should I scout around for the best prenatal vitamins na? No, not yet! Both of them assured me that 2010 is our year, the whole family is in the pink of health, my daughter is loved by everyone around her and my husband loves me so much. I guess, that’s all I’ve been wanting to hear.
