Yona is like any other kid – she babbles a lot, throws a fit sometimes, super sweet, bolera and a picky eater. I find it very hard to feed her and most of the time I am putting the blame on Gerber. I was told before that I shouldn’t be feeding her Gerber because she’d be a picky eater when she gets older, I didn’t listen.

I couldn’t even believe myself why I forced her into eating a bottle of 50% fruit and 50% fillers (water, sugar and modified starch) when she can have it in an all-natural, 100% fruit. I remember she loves the banana variety. Should I have known that each bottle only has 50% banana, I should have given her mashed banana na lang.

Gerber’s taste is very strong, really strong that I feel like eating a spoonful of MSG when I tasted it. Instead of acquiring the said taste and loving food with strong flavors, Yona now prefers food with bland taste. She seldom eats rice but prefers pasta without sauce. Yes, without red or white sauce – just the noodles. This is how she eats her pasta.

Yes, that’s pasta with CHEESE. She loves both to bits!

and the sauce should be on a separate container…

She also eats macaroni without sauce and I cook it without adding salt on it. It’s just plain, boiled macaroni. She can have it all day, every single day. No wonder she’s not on the heavy side, but she’s not malnourished naman. Just right. With her built, I wonder if she would ever step on a treadmill when she gets older.

4 year and 6 months old (female) child who is 29.75 pounds and is 3 feet and 2.25 inches tall has a body mass index of 14.3, which is at the 21th percentile, and would indicate that your child is at a healthy weight.

I am not a bit worried about her weight because she is one healthy child. She seldom gets sick and if she ever does, it’s all because of too much chocolate (aka tonsillitis!).

dont worry sis matututunan nya din kainin yan in time. ako din ganyan when i was her age. lugi nga daw sila mommy pag aattend ng bday party. coz i dont eat spaghetti, i dont eat hotdogs, ung marshmallow lang sa dulo. tapos sa ice cream gusto ko pa chocolate lang. ngayon good luck kahit anong pagkain iha]rap mo sa kin kakainin ko. hehe so dont worry too much.

oh well, I hope she’d get over this soon. i just find it weird that she eats all the pasta while I dip the fries in her spaghetti sauce :D

Ganyan din yung nephew ko, he eats everything that tastes bland, pasta without sauce and rice lang. Mas maganda na yun kesa kids will eat preservative-laden food. When he was still a baby pa kasi, di sya pinakain ng Gerber or anything preserved foods ng Nanay ko who took care of him. My nanay laboriously boils malunggay leaves and cooks lugaw for him na salt lang ang pampalasa. Kaya he acquired that taste na, pag kumakain sa labas, lahat ng kainin nya he finds them maalat or maasim… =)

    okay na rin sis no?

Kasi Yona won’t eat anything that comes from the can or our favorite breakfast: hotdogs, tocino, etc. ayaw niya talaga. In time naman she’ll eat the right foods din.
