The “I Love You, Sabado!” Relaunch in Cebu
Jollibee has always been a child’s best buddy, at least for us Filipino kids. It’s part of our culture, an icon that can no longer be erased in our hearts and mind, it is part of us. And just like its name, their “I Love You, Sabado!” jingle tugs at our heartstrings.
When I was little, a trip to Jollibee would cost my mom thousands of money, know why? Because we had to travel all the way to Cebu or Manila to get the latest Jollibee meal. My kids are luckier nowadays — All they need to do is cross the street when they want Jollibee.
Jollibee time means quality time. Back in the days, Saturday is the only time when Dad and Mom are home. Nowadays, mom and dad often has to work weekends, this is why Jollibee has brought back to life this campaign, as they believe that the message still holds true in this day and age.
“Jollibee is going all-out on this campaign in line with our goal of engaging even more Filipino families across the country. We will make this a yearly advocacy by enjoining the whole nation to celebrate every first weekend of July thereafter as a National Family Bonding Weekend. Then and Now, this is what our brand proudly stands for,” Harvey Ong, Jollibe VP for Marketing.
On a personal note, Saturday isn’t the only day we can spend time with our kids. Make it Sunday, or Monday, every day, whenever you feel like it. Make each special day with your kids a Jollibee day. Trust me, they’ll adore you for that.
My kids are both Jollibee lovers, us included. How can I say no to their thick and juicy, Filipino-style burgers? How can I resist the call of their extremely hot and sweet Peach Mango Pie? Oh, and I guess they should make the Tuna Pie a regular on their menu. What did I forget? oh, the juicy Chicken Joy!
Tara na sa Jollibee!
