Time check 5:10PM.
Today’s one of those rare weekends when you find us home doing nothing. Weekends are normally for trips outside the city, malling or at least cake orders. But sadly, none of those are happening today.
I know…I should get my creativity blood running or at least let the juices flow but my mind is stuck somewhere…it’s been undecided for far too long. I should be busy, it’s barely 2 months before the big day, instead I am finding myself spaced out more and more each day. What is happening to me?
I joined this craft group on Facebook, I am buried under materials upon materials, and totally drowning with crazy ideas from the group I joined in, Pinterest, and of course…Google. Still, I am hopeless. At least that’s how I feel about this whole shitty boredom thing. I used to be SUPER creative but life happened HAHAHA
It’s not the end of the world though. I find these cool tips on what to do during those time when you feel like you have nothing else to do (but you don’t even want to look at your pile of laundry and dishes PLUS your messy living room).
So hot mommas, let us beat this stay-at-home mom blues! Ready? Read on.
Start reading and read as much as you can. This isn’t a problem to me because I do this often. If you can’t leave the house, then go somewhere else through books. I am currently hooked to the classics and has just finished Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility, and Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations. Got these books from my friend Iris Acosta. These are actually for Yoe but I guess she’s not ready for the classics just yet.
Start a Hobby
If there are two things that frustrates me big time…they’re calligraphy and sewing. I tried both but neither worked as I suck at both. Professional help I definitely need. One friend advised me to check out tons of Youtube videos but they were of no help. Facebook groups aren’t helping either. I tried so hard to learn both but no amount of tutorial helps.
Here are some options that you might want to consider:
There are so many things to do. Ask your inner self, what it is that you want to do? In my case, I am planning to enroll in a sewing class this April, when everything’s settled. It’s never too late to realize my dream, correct?
Study Once Again
I love learning. I really do. If life didn’t happen I could have gotten another degree. But probably it didn’t work that way. But did you know that you can learn most topics online and as a bonus you’ll receive a certificate from the institution? Oh yes, you can!
We have lots of options, mommies!
- and soooo much more! Just google “online courses” 🙂
Clean and Organize
This should be done every freaking day, but if you’re like me who prefers to slack off and panic when her pile of laundry develops into a mountain range…then do not do the cleaning in a day. It’s suicide.
Clean one area at a time. Focus on one task at a time, and when you do, disconnect for a while so you could really focus on your goals.
Today, I cleaned my desk and my dump of bags. I gave away half of it pero parang ang dami pa rin. Sigh. Bukas na lang ulit.
To make the whole cleaning and organizing tasks easier, stop buying things for Pete’s sake! Destash and earn, invest your money! Okay, I should be telling this myself. LOL!
Staying at home is not easy but rewarding. I just had this conversation with my kids earlier:
Me: Do you want a better mom?
Lana & Yona: NO.
Me: Maybe you want a mom who can give you everything that you want.
Yona: But she’d always probably busy with work that she won’t pay attention to us.
I should be thankful that I am able to see them grow. I shouldn’t settle for boredom and exhaustion because I am living the life most working moms covet.
No more complaints from now own. 🙂
