Would you believe I was able to make this carousel cake? I couldn’t believe it either 😂
Thankfully, I had the best chef instructors, AC Saldua of Cheeky Munchcakes (London) and Diana Cruz of The Sweetery (Quezon City) ❤❤❤
The class has taught me so many things such as patience, precision, and how should I never rush things in order to come up with a better looking cake. I admire both ladies for being so patient with us — and their love for their craft? Commendable! I’ll never be like them, that’s for sure. But at least I got the chance to work under their wings.
This cake took us more or less 12 hours to make, excluding baking time and melting of the ganache as they did it prior to the class. Some figures were also made days before but most were done on class. The rotating machine were brought by AC from the UK, including the acrylic tube which I believe Simply Plastics UK has at £0.98 up. It adds glam to the cake, don’t you think? This transparent acrylic tubing is available in a wide range of sizes and thickness. They are inexpensive too!
I salute AC for coming up with the best but easier cake techniques, she really is a pro in this department.
2017 will all be about bigger size cakes and sharp edges! 2016 ended so well with Project Happiness Bakehouse and I think (yeah, I think) I finally recovered from that business nightmare.
