Buying a new car is not part of our plans right now. Mainly because I don’t have the money to pay for it in cash, and we still have our good ol’ van, Praise.
Buying a car requires serious planning and it’s not something I am planning of doing right now. Imagine paying the minimum down payment and suffer every month in settling the premium in the next 5 years is just too stressful, at least for me.
But if you DO want to purchase a car at this point in your life, I won’t judge you hihihi But before you do, read these two important factors on how you can find the perfect car for your family.
How Much Are You Willing to Spend?
It is important to know how much you are willing to spend for your car. Are you going to buy it in cash, or pay the down payment and monthly installment? It is best to purchase it upfront of course so as not to think about the monthly payment. Besides, you will save a whole lot if you pay it in cash! Cars.com has a whole lot of choices!
What Do You Really Need?
What’s your purpose of buying? Do you really need to buy a brand new one? or would a second hand car would be okay? Compute the expenses (stress of monthly payment included), versus a second hand car needing a little maintenance.
Do you just need a sedan, an SUV, or a van? It will boil down to your family’s needs. If you’re a family of 4, choosing a sedan is not a good idea, better find something bigger.
Buying a car is an exciting part of life, however, don’t let emotions overrule your mind — still choose wisely.
