Yesterday I lost another friend. No, she was not just a friend, she was a very good one, more like a sister to me. She was there during my trying teenage days and our fondness for each other never changed a bit even though we were worlds apart.

On her way home from Bagalongon, Mae Ann lost control of the motorcycle she was driving after hitting a stray dog. She wasn’t an amateur driver because we’ve been driving since we were in high school. So was it the dog? Should I blame the dog? Or was it already her ‘time’? I don’t know.

How should I deal with this? I just lost one last February and here I am again, mourning for another good friend. This loss made me think how short life is and death is inevitable and certain. It made me think about the people I’ll leave behind. I am not even sure if the amount they’ll receive from an insurance online is enough – no, it will never be enough to cover for the loss.

I hate discussions about death, much that I hate death itself.
